Who Me? Nah, just ‘time’ flying by… 😉
I can’t believe I haven’t been on here in nearly 2 weeks; since I wrote about ‘Football & Romance’!! Never did I imagine that following the team & keeping up with the normal day-to-day would be so tiring. Our house-sitter must think I am the worst housekeeper she’s ever met…
Really – I’m not complaining, just surprised at how much work this is & how the time is zipping by. The fun of tailgating, watching & cheering on the team & making so many new friends truly does out-weigh all of that!! We are having a blast!!
What amazes me is how much laundry we come home with. Not just our clothing on roadtrips (how much can you wear on a 3-day trip), there’s all the tailgate stuff. Tablecloths, beach-towels, the cover we use for George’s tripod, etc…. Some of the stuff (like the flags) only need an occasional washing because of the lingering odor they carry into the car & house. Then there’s the dishes! Of course it wouldn’t be so bad if we didn’t take SO much food. Seriously, 5 kinds of cookies? What was I thinking? (And guess who gets to scrub the grill & wash out the coolers… LOL) Oh, lest I forget, the mud in my car & the house that came in on the tents & chairs after Saturday’s deluge… WooHoo for tile floors!!!

– FIU Game –
Speaking of time & work, though… I have to keep this one short & get back to it. It’s already Wednesday & I need to finish the [regular] laundry, grocery shop (food for Liz & the cats), bake cookies, pack, and make our house look livable. We leave for Louisiana at “O’Dark:30” on Friday.
(Just in case you’re wondering where David is through all of this – he’s our bread-winner, he’s never really off the clock. Even our very 1st vacation on our 1st anniversary – 2AM call. Same when we went to Hawaii – 5AM… Just last night he walked in the door & had to jump right onto a con-call. Then there’s his video work [including the tailgate-cams]. And he’s keeping up with church work [kudos to his very generous Tech Team & our Youth Pastor who are carrying the load on the weekends that we are out of town, y’all are awesome] & charity projects; all are very ‘hands on’. We tend to jump in pretty deep sometimes… LOL)
A quick thank you to everyone for making my mom & nephew feel so welcome during the NM game & tailgate. And to all of you who made the FIU tailgate such a success. Oh, and I can’t forget my 2 [very tall] cookie monsters! I’m making more orange ones tomorrow!!! 😉

BIRDS UP!
